Baudi includes Inpui cognate tribe

Imphal, October 10 2009: The federal general assembly of Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) in its four point resolution pertaining to the affairs of Zeliangrong people of Northeastern States resolved to officially include Inpui cognate tribe in the constitution of the organisation with reference to the resolution adopted on the Zeliangrong people convention 2007 at Zalukei Nagaland.

The resolution was taken at a general assembly convened at Tamenglong on September 30 in the presence of members representing from all three States, zonal units, women organisation, youth, students Zeme, Liangmei, Rongmei and Inpui Naga councils, said a press release of the Baudi.

The assembly also resolved to reaffirm the declaration of 2007 ZPC convention where Zeliangrong Baudi was formally declared and adopted to be the name of the central apex body of the community and Inpui for the whole NE States.

The house also expressed dissatisfaction over the development which may complicate and disturb the unity, integrity and solidarity of Zeliangrong and Inpui.

Taking note of the decision of Zeliangrong Baudi (N) to refrain from participation in the proposed convention and Zeme Council (NEI) to dissociate themselves from ZU, the house unanimously decided not to participate in the said convention in the interest of Zeliangrong public.

The house further resolved to continue to extend all possible relief to the displaced Zeliangrong people of ethnic conflict at NC Hills.

The assembly also welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Dimasa outfits and Union Government as the development would bring peace and harmony in the region.
