Tribals to allow central forces during polls in WB

Midnapore , Apr 19 : Agitating tribals of Lalgarh here on Sunday said they will not object to deployment of paramilitary forces during Lok Sabha polls from Jhargram seat if authorities agreed to their 23-point demand.
"We will not allow state police to enter Lalgarh and surrounding areas of Jungle Mahal. Paramilitary forces will be allowed from 7 am to 3 pm when voting for LS polls will take place," Convener, Anti-Police Atrocity People's Committee, Chatradhar Mahato said.
The Committee members met at Barapolia village in Lalgarh to discuss elections here after Mahato met state Chief Electoral Officer Sabyasachi Sen.
The tribal leaders also demanded that voting be monitored by retired judges of High Court and EC officials.
Tribals have not allowed police enter the villages of West Midnapore district following alleged police atrocity in early November last year.
